post numero uno

thats right. welcome to south beach and the extent of my spanish. 'post numero uno.' other than the few words i learned to have the cute little lady in the school cafe enable my coffee addiction, [necesito un cafe por favor. no leche gracias.] thats about all you get kids. first and foremost i have to preface my blog with saying, i dont use capitals and i am a strong abuser of the period punctuation. i apologize to my 4th grade english teacher who thought she taught me so well. to everyone else, deal or don't read. this is where i exercise my artistic license [and laziness.] [[i also love brackets.]]

apparently this is the thing to do for copywriters in the glorious world of advertising these days. im thinking that partly this is because a main role of the copywriter is to write hundreds and hundreds of lines and beautifully crafted words, of which about 2-5 make it to the page and eventually onto the general masses [if youre lucky]. so this is our way to give a big f u to the art directors whose visually driven ads have taken all the page space.

so since its the first post, quick run down for those who don't know me. i'm carren [phonetically pronounced 'corrinne'] not to be confused with karen, see blog url. i'm native american and irish which apparently is amusing to some people. but to me it means, ive got high cheek bones, the last name o'keefe [two capitols and an apostrophe just make it cool], i tan really well and i can drink like a champ. i'm from a small 'po dunk' town, thats what everyone from the city calls it, in pennsylvania near penn state university. given my need for excitement i lived in pittsburgh for a few years for undergrad and decided that the country was fun too so transferred to lock haven university. then i thought itd be a good idea to move to miami beach. yeah, about that. chalk one up to experience. no but it's definitely an amazing experience and should prove for an interesting next two years of my life and hopefully good blog entries. i make no promises. its better to surprise and succeed then set high expectations and disappoint.

just received an urgent text about meeting for a project. this should be fun. thats all you get for the first entry. take it easy on me, im a beginner.
